About Kids Up Front
Partnerships are the foundation behind the Kids Up Front Foundation. Our selection criteria require that all partners are not only qualified and ethical, but share a dedication to the betterment of children’s lives; a belief that giving kids a lift gives the whole community a lift.
Who, then, are the kids? We focus our energies on children and youth who have been adversely affected by poverty, abuse, illness and disability as well as new Canadians and minority groups. By assisting kids raised under such trying conditions, we alleviate many of the stresses and challenges, and thereby improve the welfare of both children and families throughout our community.
Charitable opportunities are distributed fairly and efficiently. We notify our Registered Agencies who then accept the activity (sporting events, concerts, live theatre, theme parks, movies – a near endless list of fun and enriching kids’ stuff!), select the child, and coordinate logistics.
Following the event, Kids Up Front makes every effort to have the kids send cards, stories and photos so we can immortalize the memories for both the donor and the child!
With representation in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto, the Kids Up Front Foundation fills ‘empty seats’ with kids. Across Canada, since we opened in Calgary in 2000, more than 725,500 experiences valued at $22M have been provided to kids and their guardians. In Vancouver, we have provided more than 214,000 amazing opportunities valued at $6.1M since 2004!
