How much notice is required to donate a ticket?
Kids Up Front requires notice of the donation by 12 noon and the tickets by 2 pm for a same day event. This provides sufficient time for Kids Up Front and the partner agency to select a suitable ticket recipient and coordinate logistics on their behalf. Please note, if you plan to donate a large block of tickets (more than 50), Kids Up Front deeply appreciates having more notice.
The deadline for weekend events is Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Kids Up Front can turn around tickets quickly; however, the more notice we have, the more time we can give our partner agencies to select the most appropriate child and make the necessary arrangements on their behalf.

When can I drop off my tickets?
Tickets can be dropped off between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday at the Kids Up Front office UNLESS the event is that day. For same day events, the tickets are required by 2 pm.
Who uses my tickets?
Kids Up Front partners with over 100 child-serving agencies to make sure a ticket never goes to waste and that it gets put into the hands of those who can benefit the most – the children and families of our partner agencies. The children we serve face multi-barriers including poverty, illness and neglect that exclude them from entertainment, educational and recreational opportunities.
Ticket recipients are children under the age of 19 years and their adult chaperones. Tickets MUST go to children and families that are supported by the agency. Quality control measures are in place to ensure that opportunities are broadly distributed to maximize the number of children who ultimately benefit.
Who are your partner agencies?
Kids Up Front works with a variety of registered community service agencies to distribute the tickets fairly and efficiently to tens of thousands of children each year. Our registered agencies formally agree to select suitable child ticket recipients from within their programs, arrange appropriate supervision, coordinate event logistics and strictly adhere to Kids Up Front policies.
How do you decide who gets my tickets?
Kids Up Front disperses the tickets as fairly and equally as possible amongst our partner agencies. Unless otherwise instructed, Kids Up Front will offer your donation to each of our partner agencies. For donations of 10 tickets or less, we do a draw for all agencies who have requested tickets. For larger amounts, we consider which agencies could best use the donation based on their clients’ needs and recent donations.
Can I direct my tickets to a specific agency?
Yes. Kids Up Front works on behalf of registered partner agencies to facilitate the children’s experiences. Please refer to our list of registered partner agencies and indicate which agency you wish to support at the time you make your ticket donation. If your intended recipient does not appear, please contact us.
How do I know my ticket is being used by a child?
Registered agencies have completed Agency Agreements and participated in orientation/training sessions hosted by Kids Up Front. Our agency partners are obligated to strictly abide by Kids Up Front policies and procedures. Positive feedback received from agency representatives and ticket recipients demonstrates that the intended children and families are benefitting through the Kids Up Front programs.
Who supervises the child?
A suitable adult selected by the agency supervises the child. This could be the parent, foster parent, grandparent, counselor, therapist, mentor, social worker etc.
What kinds of tickets do you accept?
Any child-friendly event ticket or admission pass can be re-gifted. Kids Up Front also accepts “tickets” for recreational activities, e.g. day camps, sports camps, overnight trips, music, dance, swimming, martial arts, drama, art, etc.
Do you accept tickets for adult-oriented events?
Kids Up Front serves children and youth up to and including 18 years of age. If you can’t use a ticket for a more adult – oriented event, Kids Up Front will make every effort to ensure your ticket is still used by a suitable adult that fits within Kids Up Front’s giving guidelines, e.g. parent or caregiver of child ticket recipient, or staff/volunteer of our partner agencies.
Can I donate an eTicket?
Yes. eTickets can be sent to info@kidsupfrontvancouver.com
How many tickets can I donate?
Kids Up Front distributes any amount of tickets from 2 – 10,000 per event! Our kids attend the events in the company of adult chaperones, which means single tickets are not generally accepted. Through our network of partner agencies, Kids Up Front has access to more than 200,000 children 18 years of age and under.
Can I get a charitable tax receipt for my donation?
Yes, if you paid for the tickets. Please provide valid proof of purchase that verifies your name, mailing address and purchase price of tickets. Sorry, event organizations are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt for ticket donations.
Please note, in accordance with CRA guidelines, charitable tax receipts may be issued for the retail value of the ticket, less any convenience fees, shipping fees, handling fees, taxes, or other.
Can my tickets be picked up?
Kids Up Front kindly asks donors to mail, drop-off, or courier tickets to our office. Sorry, we don’t have the resources to pick up the tickets.
Can I mail my tickets?
Tickets may be mailed if there is sufficient time prior to the event; generally, tickets need to be mailed a minimum of 10 days prior to the event.
