Kids Up Front Foundation (Vancouver) is proud to be named as one of Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s official community partners for the upcoming 2015 season. Through the Caps’ Community All-Stars program, participating organizations will donate 100 match tickets to Kids Up Front, enabling deserving kids to receive a life-changing experience at a ‘Caps match. Kids Up Front Executive Director, Roger Kayo confirms, “Vancouver Whitecaps FC have been a generous supporter of Kids Up Front since their entry into MLS, and we are thrilled to be recognized as one of their official community partners ”.
Kids Up Front will also be the community partner at the March 28, 2015 match at BC Place versus Cascadia Cup rivals Portland Timbers. Come and visit us at our booth on Terry Fox Plaza prior to the match!
We are pleased to announce three entries have been selected as the winners of our 2014 Holiday Card Contest based on their originality, creativity, and use of materials and skill. Listed in order of their displayed cards, congratulations to Brianna (age 12), Diego (age 11) and Katy (age 7). Each winner receives a $50 Boston Pizza gift certificate, 3 Boston Pizza Kid Meal cards & 10 tickets to a BC Lion 2014 game.
This contest was open to all children and youth who are clients or members of Kids Up Front’s partner agencies. Eventually these colourful cards will be published, packaged, and sold to our individual and corporate supporters throughout Metro Vancouver as part of our annual fundraising efforts. All project proceeds are used to fill empty seats with smiling kids and families.
Again, thanks to all of the kids and families who spent time creating fantastic card art for the 2014 Holiday Card Contest. We appreciate it! We encourage all participants to try again in next year’s Holiday Card Contest.

Kids Up Front Vancouver partners with over 107 child and family-serving charitable organizations to make sure a ticket never goes to waste. Together we ensure unused event tickets go into the hands of children and families who, living with a multitude of barriers, may otherwise never have this opportunity.

Kids Up Front Vancouver is very pleased to announce the addition of three new members to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Joining as President of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Board of Directors is Edie Doepker. Edie is currently the President of Doepker – Brimacombe Group and brings to Kids Up Front Vancouver extensive expertise in the areas of strategic planning, management, stakeholder engagement, group facilitation and community development. Edie replaces John Dalziel, who recently stepped down from his role as Board Chair for Kids Up Front Vancouver to concentrate on his role as National Chair for Kids Up Front Canada.
Joining as Vice President of the Executive Committee is Maury Kask. Maury currently serves as Senior Vice President, Consumer Operations and Chief Customer Experience Officer for Westminster Savings. Maury brings to the Kids Up Front Board over 25 years of experience in various senior management roles in Canada, the United States and Europe and has an extensive background in community investment and sponsorship strategy.
Also joining the Board of Directors is Robin Turnill. Robin brings over 15 years of management and consulting experience in both the private and public sector. Robin was previously the Chief Operating Officer for the Greater Vancouver Community Services Society and has held a number of senior Human Resources and Labour Relations roles in her career.

An active member of his community, he has served in senior positions with Ballet BC, the University of British Columbia, and the Crisis Centre of B.C. He also holds a high-level designation as a Certified Fundraising Executive, further demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of philanthropy.

Golf Green: Since its inception, Kids Up Front has been sending underprivileged kids and their families to arts, cultural, sports and recreational events. Working with local agencies and using empty seats to help fill up kids’ lives, the non-profit has provided more than 265,000 tickets to memorable, life-changing experiences since 2004. Helping make a difference in the lives of less fortunate kids and families, upwards of 200 guests hit the “links” for Kids Up Front’s major fundraiser, The 19th Hole Gala, held at the Roundhouse Community Centre.
CKNW’s Simi Sara and Global B.C.’s Kate Gajdosik, along with Kids Up Front director Dean Prelazzi, welcomed supporters to the fifth edition of the golf classic, featuring Vancouver Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi. Attendees came out swinging, participating in golf-related and spa activities before sitting down to a Savoury City-catered dinner, auction and keynote address by Lenarduzzi. Not surprisingly, a Whitecaps Game Experience for a dozen fans fetched the night’s top bid. Among the luminaries spotted comparing scorecards at The 19th Hole were Whitecaps legend Carl Valentine, B.C. Lions player Kevon Williams and brand.LIVE’s Paul Runnals.
ROLLA OLAK & SAVE ON MEATS PRESENT
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT EAST VAN KIDS
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19 AT SAVE ON MEATS POP-UP DINER
Vancouver-based singer, songwriter, and musician Rolla Olak has teamed up with Save On Meats to host a community fundraiser this Saturday, October 19 at 8:00pm at the pop-up diner in Gastown at 1 West Cordova.
The fundraiser will benefit Kids Up Front Vancouver, a charitable organization that provides access to arts, culture, sports, and recreation for kids who otherwise would not have the opportunity.
The evening will feature a live performance by Rolla and his band, as well as DJ Jeremy Schmidt (Black Mountain) and more. There will be pinball, prizes, and the usual food and drink specials from Save On Meats. Donations can be made throughout the evening and all donors will receive a download code for Common Courtesy Vol 1, a 28-song compilation of Vancouver artists that includes Rolla’s new single “Waiting For You”.
All proceeds (including Rolla Olak’s merch sales from the evening) will be donated to Kids Up Front Vancouver and will be administered towards helping kids in the East Vancouver community. Rolla Olak has been an ambassador and committee member for Kids Up Front Vancouver for over two years.
