GranFondo Whistler 2011

GranFondo cycling events are open to all levels of bike riders. These events are very popular in Europe and are gaining popularity in North America. The 2010 RBC GranFondo Whistler was the first world-class GranFondo in Canada and attracted 4,100 riders. The 2011 RBC GranFondo Whistler had over 7,000 riders. The 2012 RBC GranFondo Whislter event is on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

In the 2011 RBC GranFondo Whistler Kids Up Front had over 50 riders who participated in the race on Kids Up Front GranFondo teams. These riders raised over $46,000 for Kids up Front.

Kids Up Front is again sponsoring teams for the 2012 RBC GranFondo Whistler.

Your Commitment

Use your best efforts to raise $2,000, or as much as you can, for Kids Up Front.
Purchase a Kids up Front team jersey for $50. If you raise more than $2,000, you will be reimbursed the cost of your team jersey.
If your team raises more than $10,000, the jersey for all riders on your team is free.

Free Training Programme

West Point Cycles provided a free, comprehensive sic month training programme for the 2011 RBC GranFondo. They will provide a similar free training plan for the 2012 RBC GranFondo for Kids up Front riders.

Post-Race Party in Whistler

Kids Up Front will host a post-race party for all team riders on race day in Whistler. Last year’s post race party was at The Longhorn.

Why Ride for Kids Up Front?

Kids Up Front distributes unused event tickets to kids at risk, kids who may never have been to a game, concert, play or cultural event. By providing access to arts, culture, sports and recreation, Kids Up Front is changing the lives of local underprivileged children and youth.

As little as $5 sends a child to a quality event. By raising $1,000, you will be providing life-changing opportunities for 200 children!

Online Registration

We are setting up an online Kids Up Front rider registration so our riders can create their personal pledge page. Friends and donors can donate online from the rider’s personal pledge page. Riders can monitor their pledges against their fund raising target.
