What We Do
Kids Up Front Vancouver provides experiences to children and youth in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley region. We work with over 100 child-serving community agencies to distribute tickets, classes, passes and experiences to those facing systemic barriers. We believe that all kids should have access to enriching experiences like arts, culture, and sporting events. Attendance at events like these helps to foster feelings of inclusion and belonging in the children we help.
Orange Shirt Day 2025
Kids Up Front Vancouver is The Ticket Charity and has been for 21 years. Plans changed? Can’t use your tickets? Transfer them to [email protected] and we will share that opportunity with kids and youth who would not otherwise have access to the events and experiences that donors provide.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation coincides with Orange Shirt Day. Both commemorate the residential experience and are intended to support and honour the healing journey of survivors and their families. Ticket donations and monthly donors enable Kids Up Front to share experiences with families who were affected by the residential school system. Our Story
“I looked around and saw so many empty seats and I knew that those seats had been paid for and that those tickets were probably in somebody’s desk. I was determined to fill those seats with kids and their families that wouldn’t normally have a chance to go.”

From empty seats to unforgettable adventures…
When John Dalziel looked around Calgary’s Saddledome one night in 1999, he saw more than a sea of empty seats. He saw possibility. Why not put those unused tickets into the hands of kids who may never have the chance to be there live when the hometown team wins a big game or when their favourite band comes to town?
Kids Up Front Vancouver was created in 2004 and to date, we have provided over 430,000 event tickets valued at over $13M to Greater Vancouver kids and families. Our foundation strives to provide every kid with a larger than life experience that fosters possibilities, passion, dreams, belonging, and self-confidence.
